House Majority Retreat - The Homestead
Bill Howell
Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates
RICHMOND, VA - Virginia House of Delegates Speaker William J. Howell (R-Stafford) issued the following statement Sunday on the death of former Virginia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harry L. Carrico:
"Cessie and I were saddened to learn of the passing of Justice Harry L. Carrico.
"I have known Justice Carrico for over 50 years. As I began to consider a legal career many years ago, his thoughtful and kind advice made him a personal mentor.
"Justice Carrico was the longest serving Chief Justice in the history of the Commonwealth. He served during a time of rapid political, social and cultural change but his love of justice and the rule of law was unwavering.
"Justice Carrico was a dedicated public servant who will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time."

Great to be at #RPV2013 with 10,000 of my closest friends and our next Governor -- @KenCuccinelli.
Virginia's unemployment rate stands at 5.2 % - lower than it has been in 4 years. Proof that conservative policies #work.
A new study shows that the transportation plan we passed will support more than 13,000 jobs over the next six years. http://t.co/6V03FjVruT
